The CES trade show is an annual electronics event held every year in Las Vegas. For those who haven’t been it is a must – the shear size of the show, the technology and the exhibits are downright overwhelming. This show is known as the “super bowl” of the electronics industry and it takes place very early every January. I am a gadget geek so I always keep my eye on the events in Las Vegas – but it turns out that some also view this show as a thermometer for the rest of the year.
Turns out that 2011 was hot – after a few stagnant years in attendance all attendees reported a buzz surrounding this years show and very high traffic. The folks at the Trade Show News Network (TSNN) state that attendance topped 140k and that it should bode well for the rest of 2011.
So…. lets keep an eye on some upcoming shows to see if this will be status quo for the remainder of the year. Hopefully buyers will be traveling more and that attendance will be up across the board.
